"Four Strong Winds" was written by Ian Tyson.
This album represents Neil's return to folk music and is considered a comeback album. The album was originally going to be called Give To The Wind. Some promo copies were pressed with this name and are now very valuable. Neil was unhappy with the original song sequencing of this album ("Piece Of Mind" and "Lotta Love" were swapped). So Neil bought the 200,000 copies of the album that Reprise had already pressed for $160,000. Reportedly, Neil then had shotguns fired through the boxes so the records inside could not be played. "Motorcycle Mama" is a song Neil wrote after watching a woman in Ft. Lauderdale fall off her bar stool. Previous - Neil Young - Next
