This album is a live document of Neil's summer 2000 U.S. jaunt (named the "Music In Head" tour) with the "Friends & Relatives Band".
Chrissie Hynde's band, The Pretenders, were the opening act on this tour, hence her appearance on Road Rock.
On this album, several songs make their first appearance in several years. "Fool For Your Love" was last performed on the 1988 Bluenotes tour. "Walk On" and "Peace Of Mind" were last performed in the 1970's. "Words" had never been performed live until it was performed at every show on this tour.
